Instead of focusing on celebrating love once day a year, why not use this holiday to remind ourselves to cherish and maintain love in our lives every single day. If you are in a loving relationship, this is the perfect time to do some self-reflection on your relationship and make sure you are doing everything you should be doing to keep your relationship alive and strong. A relationship is like those over-priced red roses that will be sold out tomorrow, you have to water and care for them if you want them to grow and flourish.
Here are a few tips you can use to keep the romance alive in your relationship every day of the year:
Talk to Each Other---Seems like an obvious one huh? In today’s fast-paced world, everyone is so busy and we go through out daily routines without batting an eye sometimes. It can be easy to miss the fact that we may not know what our partner is feeling inside. So ask them how they are feeling.
Do Some Chores Together---There’s nothing more romantic that doing the dishes together, right? Ok, maybe not. But research shows that couples who fairly share responsibilities at home have more satisfying relationships.
Do Something Fun---Flowers and chocolates can be nice, but spending time together doing something you both enjoy is even better. Plan a date night. Go for a hike. Do something new. Plan an upcoming trip.
Support Each Other---Is your partner working towards a goal right now? Show them your support! And you should expect the same from them as well. Research shows that individuals enjoy an increased level of personal well-being when they believe that their partner views them and behaves towards them in a way that is consistent with their own ideal self. Strong and healthy relationships not only make us happy, but they should also help us become better people.
Best Wishes and Happy Valentine’s Day (if you’re into that sort of thing)
